Dr. Yuanyuan Fan is based in Perth, WA. She has been working in the electrical field since 2006. She finished her bachelor and master degrees respectively in 2010 and 2013 at North China Electric Power University. She got three papers published and worked on HVDC industrial projects during her master study, including working with China Electric Power Research Institute. She finished her research project on offshore wind power, based on which many project reports and research papers were generated.

She got her Ph.D. degree in 2017 at Curtin University and now is continuously working on publications based on her research work. She attended the 2014 Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference (AUPEC) at Curtin University, Perth, WA and the 2016 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM) in Boston, USA. She has extensive experiences in power system design, control, modelling and simulation. Her research interests include renewable energy, microgrid, HVDC and smart grid.

She has been an IEEE member since 2014. She has two years’ teaching experience in Electrical Systems and Smart Grid at Curtin University. She has been supervising master thesis projects at EIT since July 2017. She is now a Learning Support Officer and lecturer in the electrical engineering and industrial automation fields at EIT. She is active in the development of renewable energy utilization.
