In 2021, the Australian Government is providing additional short course Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) for higher education across a range of disciplines as part of the Job-ready Graduates package.
These places will support students to undertake higher education in order to prepare our nation and workforce to move out of recession and will help Australians to retrain and up-skill in national priority areas - one of which is engineering.
EIT has been busy designing industry-oriented online undergraduate certificates and graduate certificates to help those already working in the engineering field, or those who want to enter the engineering field, retrain, or upskill.
For a small contribution of AUD $500* (AU$125 per unit), you will be able to earn a qualification from EIT in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial automation engineering, and civil and structural engineering.
These online short qualifications are known as micro-credentials and have become increasingly popular in recent years. Researchers from Edith Cowan University and Flinders University suggest this is because these short courses are able to align themselves with industry needs through collaboration and deliver targeted skills that are required in the workplace.
These courses are supported by the Australian Government via a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). Enrolling in a CSP means the Australian Government pays for part of your course. To be eligible for a CSP, you must be one of the following:
The student contribution amount for a CSP in this course is $500. Eligible students are able to defer their student contribution payment through HECS‑HELP. Eligibility requirements for deferring payment through HECS-HELP apply. Further information can be accessed here.
At EIT, we are offering Undergraduate and Graduate Certificates supported by the Australian Government via Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs). This means the Australian Government will subsidize part of your program fees which makes the cost to students much lower. If you are eligible for a CSP your subsidized course fees will be AU$500 (AU$125 per unit). Eligible students can defer their student contribution payment through HECS-HELP.
These qualifications will be delivered via our unique online delivery methodology, which allows students to connect with each other and their lecturer in real-time during the live and interactive tutorials. State of the art technologies, such as remote laboratories and simulation software, enable students to gain practical knowledge that can be immediately applied in the workplace.
On successful completion of an EIT Undergraduate or Graduate Certificate, graduates can then consider further study with one of EIT's Bachelor of Science or Master of Engineering degrees.
There’s never been a better time to get a start on your studying journey.
